In 2025, the Vesuvius Group strategically acquired the Molten Metal Systems (MMS) business, formerly part of Morgan Advanced Materials. This acquisition integrates the industry’s most extensive range of high-performance crucibles and foundry consumables into the Vesuvius and FOSECO portfolio, reinforcing our position as the global leader in molten metal engineering.

By combining this established product line with FOSECO’s global application knowledge, we offer customers the perfect solution for their specific melting, holding, and transfer applications.

While renowned for our market-leading Salamander (previously Morganite) and Noltina crucibles, our portfolio extends far beyond. We provide a wide selection of engineered foundry consumables designed to maximise productivity and energy efficiency.

  • Crucibles: An extensive range of shapes and sizes using materials like silicon carbide and graphite, tailored for specific thermal and operational performance.

  • Foundry Consumables: Thermocouple sheaths, coatings, degassing tubes, launders, cements, and ladle liners.

  • Furnace Industries: A specialised range of crucibles, cupels, and furnaces (including fusion and cupellation furnaces) primarily serving the worldwide gold exploration and mining industry.
