HPDC systems are highly automated for rapid cycle times (under a minute). Unlike low-pressure or gravity die casting, insulating refractory linings aren't used—high heat transfer is required to cool castings quickly.

Ferrous metal treatment

Foseco offers a package of consumables and equipment for the production of clean, reproducible metal quality and uniform microstructure. The range of products we supply offer advantages in safety, health and environmental issues, automation and process control and productivity.

Metal treatment products for ferrous alloys

In order to achieve the desired mechanical properties in iron castings, the liquid iron must have the correct composition and it must also contain suitable nuclei to induce the correct graphite structure to form on solidification.

The FERROLAB system is provided free of charge to Foseco customers that buy our inoculants, nodularisers and sampling cups. And we work together with them to ensure that they can consistently produce the highest quality iron possible.
