The Vesuvius group is constituted of four divisions addressing the main groups of industrial markets it serves: Steel, Foundry, Linings for Industrial Processes, Fused Silica. Employing more than 12,000 employees in 40 countries, the Vesuvius community is ready to serve its customers wherever they grow and whenever they are inneed of new technology.
The Steel division provides a full range of products and services to control, regulate and protect the flow of steel in the continuous casting process. Vesuvius’ products ensure the reliability and consistency of performance required in the demanding and critical functions of safety, productivity and quality.

Linings for Industrial Processes
The Linings division of Vesuvius provides products and services that enable our customer’s plants to withstand the effects of extreme temperatures or erosive chemical attack.
- Customers: iron and steel, aluminium, petrochemical, power generation, waste incineration, mineral processing
- Products: castables, gunning materials, ramming mixes, precast shapes, taphole clay, bricks, mortars, construction and installation
The Fused Silica division is the world’s leading supplier of crucibles used in the production of polycrystalline silicon ingots for manufacturing photovoltaic cells and is the reference supplier of rollers used in the transformation of flat glass and special steels. In addition it manufactures refractory products used in both glass production and glass treatment.
- Main End Markets: photovoltaic panels & thin films, tempered glass for windscreens, flat glass for TV screens
